Who is International American English Programs (IAEP)?
International American English Programs (IAEP) is a subsidiary of Visions International, LLC in partnership with Tri-County Technical College, the certifying institution. IAEP was founded in 2007. In 2009, IAEP became a subsidiary of Visions International LLC to expand our global network and enhance our services to include language coaching, intercultural training and career/business development. IAEP offers TESOL/TEFL/TESL Teacher Training, Teacher Certification and Language Coaching to aspiring and existing educators and students of primary, secondary and adult education. In addition to foundational and relevant competencies for TESOL/TEFL/TESL teachers, our course is enriched with intercultural effectiveness training and resources taught by Certified Teacher Trainers with extensive intercultural experience.
Do I need a TESOL/TEFL/TESL certificate? Do I need to get certified if I already have teaching experience?
The issue of being certified as with licenses required for numerous professionals such as counselors, and physicians means that the teacher has gone through training beyond that of someone who has teaching experience. Having certification distinguishes persons who have training from those who do not have. If you plan to teach English overseas, most schools require TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certification (most international employers require a minimum of 60-hour training). IAEP’s TESOL/TEFL/TESL Certification meets and exceeds international requirements. Currently, there is not a national or international standard certification for teaching English as a Second Language to adults.
Does this certification meet national and international standards?
The Teacher to Teacher TESOL/TEFL/TESL Program was developed by a professional educator and former certified teacher with over twenty-six years of classroom experience from early childhood to post secondary level. The goal for the course was to surpass existing programs and provide unparalleled course content that would allow participants to teach at a very high level. Currently, there is not a national or international standard certification for teaching English as a Second Language to adults. If you plan to teach English overseas, most schools require TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certification (minimum of 60-hour training). IAEP’s TESOL/TEFL/TESL Certification meets and exceeds international requirements.

Please inquire with your local school district regarding the requirements to teach K-12.

How is your TESOL/TEFL/TESL certification course different from other certification programs?
The Teacher to Teacher TESOL/TEFL/TESL Program is a cooperative program between non-profit and profit agencies with the goal of building a global community of interculturally effective professionals, educators and students who are able relate and communicate cross-culturally, live contentedly and work successfully in other cultures. The 40-hour supervised practicum exceeds international requirements and most certifying programs. Our trainees develop a teaching resource portfolio that includes exhaustive teaching resources such as 52-week lesson plans, classroom management resources, interactive games and activities that can be used to start teaching immediately in a local, international, private or corporate setting. Additionally, our partnership with Visions International LLC introduces our trainees to teaching practicum opportunities locally, jobs and training to develop a tutoring business. Our program goes beyond teacher training and certification to introduce and develop our teachers in intercultural effectiveness and provide opportunities to participate in collaborative efforts and partnerships on a local and international level that build safe, humane and responsive communities for children and expatriate families. Our programs address the following goals of the International Society for Child Indicators: Contributing to the well-being of children, sharing knowledge and experience, fostering collaborative research and projects, enhancing dissemination of information on the status of children and enhancing the capacity of the field in countries that are in the initial stages of producing child well being indicators. Here are some events we have participated in and partnerships that demonstrate our commitment to these goals:
Your embossed, notarized, paper certificate will be presented to you once you successfully complete the 40-hour supervised practicum with documentation and complete your teaching resource portfolio.
Can I take the course if I have no previous teaching experience?
We will provide you with information and skills that will prepare you to teach without prior teaching experience. The sessions include face to face instruction, outside assignments which involve research, resource development and curriculum planning. You will receive personal mentoring for your trainer who has extensive experience in teaching and intercultural communications and relations.
